Dermaplaning / Blade Peel

Epidermal Leveling, also know as Dermaplaning or Blade Peel,  is an exfoliation procedure designed to smooth the appearance, reduce fine lines, and reduce acne scarring.  The innovative technique carefully removes the top layers of the tissue, ridding the face of the dead skin and ‘peach fuzz’ that can trap in dirt and oils.  The procedure will allow for new skin to appear, brightening the complexion.

No pre-treatment is required before Epidermal Leveling.  Perfect for a last minute procedure, dramatic results can be seen immediately after the first treatment.  No chemicals are used during the Epidermal Leveling procedure making is suitable for every skin type and tone, even darker complexions.  It is gentle and safe for pregnant or nursing patients.  In an afternoon, the face can take on a healthy, glowing appearance with the cost or recovery time associated with other more invasive procedures.

Is Epidermal Leveling Safe?

Epidermal Leveling is safe for use on all skin types and tones.  Both men and women will experience a smoother, brighter appearance after an Epidermal Leveling or Dermaplaning treatment.  The ideal candidate will understand the procedure, have realistic expectations, and be in overall good health.

During the consultation appointment, one of Georgia Dermatology’s med spa estheticians will perform a brief skin evaluation, determining if Epidermal Leveling is right for the particular situation.

About the Blade Peel Procedure

The Epidermal Leveling treatment will take about 45 minutes in the office.  To begin, the esthetician will cleanse and prep the face.  Next, a state-of-the-art surgical steel blade (Epi-blade) is meticulously drawn across the face.  Each movement of the blade is similar to shaving.  Once the entire area has been treated, patients are able to return to their normal activities. There’s no downtime! Just beautiful glowing smooth skin!

For optimal results, it is recommended that patients repeat the Epidermal Leveling procedure once a month.  Complimentary procedures, such as a Chemical Peel or IPL Laser Therapy, can be added to increase the benefits and maintain the newly acquired, youthful complexion.
