S-Lift or Mini Face Lift

The Mini Facelift, also referred to as a “S” lift, and mid facelift, is a popular alternative to the traditional full face lift. The mini facelift creates an overall lift to the lower third of a patient’s face and cheeks. With the Mini Lift, the incisions are smaller and less invasive with less complications and a faster recovery period. A good candidate for this procedure are people who have mild to moderate sagging in the cheeks, neck, or chin and want to obtain a more youthful, natural appearance.As the aging process takes effect on the skin, there is a noticeable change to the firmness and texture, accompanied by wrinkles that continue to deepen over time. The volume and sculpting of the face diminishes, and skin begins to sag, noticeably around the jawline, neck and jowl area. Many people are discouraged by the signs of aging, and desire a more natural improvement to their appearance. In many of these cases, alternative skin rejuvenation procedures we offer at Georgia Dermatology Center, such as dermal fillers, or even a liquid facelift, may not be appropriate to rectify the changes in facial contours. When you are ready for change, but not ready for a full face lift, the S-Lift may be the recommended solution.

Mini facelift surgery is particularly effective for metro area Atlanta patients, both men and women, who possess good skin elasticity. The benefits include:

The procedure removes excess skin from the cheeks, chin and neck which allows tightening of the skin. Neck liposuction is sometimes used in conjunction with the S-Lift. The S-Lift is performed with an S-formed excision in front of the ear, around the earlobe, back of the ear, and down the nape of the neck with limited scarring. The skin is lifted and the underlying tissues are tightened and re-positioned. The procedure normally takes 2-4 hours and results last 7-10 years on most patients.

The S-Lift is performed in Dr. Gross’s office in Cumming, GA under local anesthesia and oral sedation. Some patients are able to return to work or routine activities after 2 or 3 days while others may require additional down time. Some patients experience slight swelling and bruising but have found a little makeup can camouflage the area. Dr. Gross has found his patients to be satisfied with the short and long-term natural and youthful facial improvements as a result of the S-Lift procedure.
